Join us for an afternoon of poetry by Charles Coe and viola duets performed by Michelle LaCourse and Hye Min Choi.

This event is a benefit concert by suggested donation of $40

Refreshments will be served after the performances

Michelle LaCourse has appeared as soloist and chamber musician on four continents. She has commissioned and premiered numerous new works for viola. LaCourse chairs the String Department at Boston University’s School of Music, where she was awarded BU’s 2009 Metcalf Cup and Prize, BU’s highest honor for excellence in teaching.

Charles Coe is author of two books of poetry, "Picnic on the Moon" and "All Sins Forgiven: Poems for My Parents", both published by Leapfrog Press. Charles is also author of the novella "Spin Cycles," published by Gemma Media. He is an adjunct professor of English at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, teaching in their new low-residency MFA program.

Hye Min Choi - photo.jpg

Hye Min Choi has received numerous awards and honors in Korea and the United States as soloist and chamber musician.  She received her M.M. from the New England Conservatory as a student of Martha Strongin Katz, and her Doctorate and the coveted Artist Diploma from Boston University's School of Music as a student of Michelle LaCourse. She joined the String Faculty at BU’s School of Music in 2016.
